GREAT WHITE AND SLAUGHTER ROCK THE EASTSIDE CANNERY!

By Eric Tucker

February 18, 2017 saw the return of two of the biggest names from the hair band era when SLAUGHTER and GREAT WHITE returned to the Eastside Cannery Hotel and Casino for what is quickly becoming a semi-annual show between the two rock Giants.

Mark Slaughter and his band SLAUGHTER would open the show. Mark has gone from local boy made good to rock royalty over the years in Las Vegas and he and fellow Vegas resident Dana Strum are never afraid to let a crowd see how much Vegas means to them. In trademark fashion, Mark made his way out into the crowd during the song “Mad About You” to meet and greet as many of the local fans as possible. With Jeff Brando on guitar and the amazing wild man Zoltan Chaney providing highlights on drums Slaughter never fails to entertain espec

ially during the classics “Fly to the Angels” and “Up All Night”.
Former Vegas Rocks! Magazine Awards honoree GREAT WHITE returned to headline this huge double bill. It’s easy to forget just how many huge hits GREAT WHITE had in their heyday of the 80′s, but one is easily reminded once GREAT WHITE takes the stage and starts delivering. The legendary Mark Kendall on guitar showed no sign of slowing down as he was in rare form this evening delivering his one of kind guitar licks and bluesy sound on songs like “House of Broken Love”. Sally was busy backstage with both Great White taking photos and shooting video as always!

Thanks go out once again to all the staff at the Eastside Cannery Hotel and Casino for not only being so receptive and accommodating, but for once again bringing us this semi-annual twin bill of two of the true pioneers of 80′s rock.
