EVANESCENCE ROCKS THE PEARL!

EVANESCENCE was in Las Vegas at the Pearl this past October with the “Synthesis Live” tour.  The band led a 28-piece orchestra through a sold-out performance.  Lead singer Amy Lee made a total 180 from the goth-rocker we all knew, to a glamorous opera singer.  The band was here to promote their fourth album, “Synthesis,” which comes out November 10.

There was a dramatic change with the concert and music arrangements that gave fans a different perspective of the band’s sound.  With a full symphony orchestra, arranged by veteran music arranger David Campbell, who has collaborated with the band back to their first album.  The set included two new songs “Imperfection” and the encore, “Speak to Me,” the band also played fan favorites  “Bring Me to Life,” “My Immortal,” “Lithium” and “Your Star”

Heavy electric guitars, drums, and aggressive rock vocals, was replaced with strings, woodwinds, brass, synths, drum machines, and a heavy dose of piano.  My favorite performance was “My Immortal.”  It was a raw and beautiful performance that was very intimate between Lee and her fans.  I could tell the crowd was having a great time because after each song had ended, the crowd would yell, “We love you Amy!”
