When I heard Joe Berman was going to be speaking at the Vegas Music Summit this year I immediately contacted Brian Saliba to tell him I wanted to be there! I was anxious to meet the man who I had been corresponding with for many months regarding licensing and it was definitely a treat to sit down with Joe for lunch prior to the Summit.
With this being the first year in attendance for me, I realized as soon as it got underway how important this event was to the local musicians, composers, entertainers and anyone in the music business here in Las Vegas. Industry panels were featured throughout the day of February 15th and 16th. Topics ranged from producing music festivals, music promotion, branding, music licensing and so much more!
Being in the film business now, it was very informative at the sync licensing panel which included Dan Burt, Matthew Everstsen (you are
too cute BTW!) ,Geoff Siegel and Joe Berman as the moderator. I also had a chance to say hello to Chris Bitonti from Brooklyn Bowl at the agent/ promoter panel and Holmes Pooser who I haven’t seen in quite awhile.
I ran into people I hadn’t seen in years and some I have no idea how they know me or how I knew them, if I did.
This event was definitely worth going to
and very enjoyable. Also held at the same time was the Vegas Cannabis Summit but I was so wrapped up with the music summit, I never had a chance to check it out.
Congratulations and many thanks to Brian Saliba/ Smash Magazine for putting together such a beneficial and spectacular event for Vegas! See you next year! - Sally Steele
