VINCE NEIL ROCKS THE GOLDEN NUGGET!
I hadn’t seen Vince Neil in a couple of years so I figured it was time to go see the rock icon. My daughter had given me MOTLEY CRUE’s first record as Christmas gift since I only had the cassette and CD and I don’t think Vince has signed anything for me in the past 10 years so I was on a mission! So on Friday December 28th, I headed to the Golden Nugget to start the New Year’s weekend off right!
When I arrived to the Golden Nugget showroom, I was greeted by the entertainment manager, Dave Gillie who was joking around being mad at me for not inviting him to my Christmas party – Sorry Dave – I had no idea you wanted to go! Next year – I promise! It took awhile before the show to make my way backstage when Vince was finally ready to see people and he gave me a big hug. I was really happy to see him after such a long time since he moved from Las Vegas to Nashville. He signed my record and we chatted briefly before he headed onstage to rock the house.
I was in the front row and was joined my friend MJ and her two boys and we had a great time singing to the songs as I filmed and took photos all through the show. I don’t get to shows as much anymore as I am so busy with my film these days and I forgot just how fun it was to hear my favorite Motley Crue songs. By the time “Wildside” played I was high on life rockin’ out with the rest of the crowd. With Dana on bass, Blando on guitar and Zoltan on drums the energy hit a fever pitch with Vince leading the way.
Some people have different opinions of Vince Neil with his colorful history with the baddest boys in rock. But love him or hate him, he still stands as a legendary artist and his voice is unmistakable. During the show I was amazed that his voice still has that signature high pitched sound. And he can still sing! And when I thought about it, with Motley Crue disbanded, we are lucky to have Vince! I mean, Tommy Lee is fighting with his son and having intimate relations on airplanes with that hot chick he’s engaged to, Nikki Sixx is doing seminars on Opiods, Mick Mars is MIA so Vince is all we have!
So thank you Vince Neil for being out there keeping our Motley Crue songs alive and thank you to the Golden Nugget for making it happen!
