YUNGBLUD VEGAS TO PHOENIX!

I was well aware of Yungblud and I was hoping to go to his show when he took over Planet Hollywood May 19th. But I didn’t buy a ticket when I heard about it
because I was saving up to go to Hawaii for my birthday. So when I was with my friend John Barr who was going, I told him I didn’t have a ticket. But little did I know that at that moment my daughter was trying to reach me to see if I still wanted to go because she was trying to buy some resale tickets. I finally got her message and I said “Hell yeah I want to go!” And it was ON!     When we arrived at Planet Hollywood, the line was wrapped all the way around in a circle through the entire mall with no end in sight. I ran into so many people I
knew and we were all taking photos together. It was like everyone I knew was
there! My daughter kept reminding me that the tickets were not good so she told me not to complain. When we finally got to our seats, they were on the top floor of the balcony in the last row with The Warning kicking a#$ onstage. I went down to the venders to look at T-shirts and I ran into the girl that always escorts me to go backstage for Scorpions. I asked her if she had any armbands for the pit. “How many do you need?” she asked. “Two!” I replied. And she went and got them right away! So I go running up the stairs to the balcony: “Charlotte! Charlotte! We’re going down to the pit!” “You aren’t going to stand!” She said to which I replied: “For him I will! So I gave my Yungblud T-Shirt and poster to my friends Jerry and Michele to hold as I ran down to the pit like a crazed teenager.     Even before Dominic Harrison took to the stage, I felt something magical
happening. Cameras followed him and Criss Angel to the stage and the music began with “Hello Heaven.” I had seen the video for this song but being there so close to this artist with his charisma, strength and energy it was captivating. But it was more than any other show I had been to: I saw something and I felt something that I hadn’t felt in a long time. It was euphoria in a state of
excitement with music that was completely new and exciting to me.

This music was amazing. It was commercial at times being presented by this
young man who held the crowd as far up to the back of the balconies in the palms
of his hands. Sure he is hot, but the music exceeded pure talent and depth. And
more importantly to me, he is the future of rock music. As we all know Ozzy
Osbourne passed the torch to him and gave him his cross and blessing to take
over the world with his music. And I can see why that happened. Yungblud IS
DEFINITELY carrying the torch for rock and roll!      Anyone that knows me knows I don’t listen to new music. I am stuck in the 80’s
hard core Motley Crue all the way. But everything changed being in that crowd
that night. The people weren’t pushing or shoving but being nice with adoration for their hero. All the better for me as I clicked away with photos and videos on my phone to capture this phenomenon.      Yungblud made many mentions to his “family” The Osbournes and talked lovingly about Ozzy before bringing Ozzy’s song “Changes” to life with the crowd cheering and singing along.

After the show, most of the fans stayed put and “Dom” came out to whisk
through the front row to take some selfies and sign merch. He clearly loves his
fans and everything about him breathes love and kindness.

Memorial Day was approaching for me and I was planning a small barbeque get
together. My kid was mad at me and no one was really getting back to me to
come to the party. There were some other people who were being very unkind to
me and I saw that Yungblud was performing in Phoenix. I got online and saw a Pit
GA resell ticket for $205 and I snapped it up! Oil leak in my car?! No problem!
Phoenix here I come!      I went out and bought YB’s CD “Idols” to be more familiar with his songs on the way to Arizona. Lucky for me my great friends Donna and David let me stay at their beautiful place near Prescott so I didn’t have to drive straight through.

As soon as I hit the highway listening to “Idols”, I felt my depression and problems
leave me in my rearview mirror. I couldn’t wait to be in that crowd again as close
as possible to the stage in the Euphoria that I experienced in Vegas.     After a great breakfast with David and Donna in Prescott at the Lone Spur Café, I
headed to Phoenix. With a huge downpour of rain, listening you “Idols” I finally
made it into Phoenix, very lost and confused. I couldn’t find a reasonable place to
park with confusing phone log ins. I finally got in a line that was already long and
steadily growing at 5pm. If the girls in front of me hadn’t given me a water out of
their backpack I probably would’ve fainted from walking and standing in the heat.
A street vendor came by with some REALLY cool Yungblud t –shirts that were
brown and black leopard tie dye with incredible artwork. I just HAD to have one
and it was worth standing in that line for.   An announcement was made that fanscould sign a poster board for Yungblud. Soon his photographer came by with the sign and of course there were all these loving messages but I thought I would be a little different and tell the truth. After 3 t-shirts, a poster, a pit ticket and a fortune on gas from Vegas. I wrote in bright red marker in the middle: “You cost me a fortune!” and signed my name. I am sure YB probably saw it and said “Who the hell is Sally Steele?!?”…. maybe I won’t get that interview after all….LOL.     I was in a big hurry to get inside the venue. I wanted a close spot by the front of
the stage. I never buy tickets to shows. I am always comped with a guest or media
pass. So I forgot about trying for a fast pass to get inside sooner. So here I was a
nervous wreck waiting for G. I. Joe to hurry up and check bags who was taking
forever.       I ran to the front on the floor with my armband and I got in the 3rd row. The girl in front of me had been waiting in line since 8:30 am so I wasn’t about to push her out of the way. But with all the standing, running and waiting in the heat, I was already pooped. Then I found out there were TWO opening bands! Oh No! I don’t care how good and popular The Warning is, I sat  down on the floor in the crowd in between everyone’s feet. I told the man beside me: “I’m tired and old down here.” He said no
problem. “We got you.”      And then Yungblud’s song “Hello Heaven”started with screaming all through the venue. Then the superstar came onstage jumping with the energy of an excited
10-year old. The crowd surged forward and I was pushed into the people in front of me. It loosened up a little and I was able to film the intro.

He played all my favorites as I snapped away: “Idols” , “Zombie” and “Lovesick
Lullabye” . His energy was contagious and it never let up through the two hour
show. Yungblud told everyone that was standing next to them to hug them and them them to yell: “I f#c*%n Love You!” Which we all did of course. I did like the people that were around me. Towards the end of the set, the guy who had been behind me got pushed in front of me. It made it harder to take photos so I tapped him on the shoulder and told him I needed my spot back to take photos and film. He said “sure!” and pulled me in front of him. I thought that was very nice of him. Some people at shows would just say “Screw you!” but this crowd that loves Yungblud are wonderful people.      After the show, no one moved in the pit. Because I guess they all got the memo
their hero comes out to take a swift greet with the ones in the front row. You can
tell he is such a genuine, kind person and cares about his fans.

I am so glad I had the opportunity to see Yungblud twice while he was in this part
of the country on his tour. Next year no doubt he will be in the Allegiant stadium
and it will be impossible to be closer to him. Oh, but wait…I see he will be in
Sturgis, South Dakota in August…Hhmmm… Stay tuned!
