FRANKIE MORENO BRINGS OUT THE STARS!

Frankie Moreno CD Release Party “An Ocean Away” Notoriety Live Fremont Street Experience Las Vegas, Nevada May 4, 2025

Frankie Moreno’s Record Release of “An Ocean Away” brought out the best of the Las Vegas entertainment community! It was a different kind of event. Frankie and his brother Tony came onstage and told stories about the CD and how it came about. But not before John Kats ( who never sleeps!) came onstage to give them a proclamation for both of them. An argument ensued over who did more of the writing of the CD and who should receive the proclamation. They ended up tearing the proclamation in half! But it was all planned out as it was just a copy and not the real one from the Mayor. It was all planned and very hilarious and entertaining. There were video scenes of Frankie and Lacey Schwimmer in Hawaii where the inspiration for the songs began. It also showed off with scenes featuring Lacey’s engagement ring! What took you so long Frankie?!? So many scenes of the beauty of Hawaii were shown with Frankie riding his motorcycle filming and Frankie and Lacey traveling around the island. There were also photograph images on the screen behind them of Frankie’s dad and his band, Frankie’s mother and Frankie with his first guitar. It went through photos of Frankie and then Tony being born and then Frankie’s son Giovanni being born and adding to the talented family. It showed photos of the family through the decades. It was extremely moving and I cried a lot of my make-up off. After watching the videos of Hawaii and Frankie’s family, I was so jealous! Why wasn’t I a part of such a beautiful family and living in Hawaii?!? What an idyllic life Frankie has had! But then again he deserves it after creating so many beautiful songs and such incredible music over the years. Frankie is by far one of the most talented performers I have ever known! It was a great night to see so many of my friends I hadn’t seen in a long time including Zoe Thrall and her talented husband Pat Thrall who mixed many of Frankie’s projects. And it was nice meeting new friends like Cole! Many stories were told and guests brought onstage. A guitar was auctioned off and Murray Sawchuck came onstage with a guitar case and showed it was empty. But lo and behold with Murray’s magic a guitar just like the one given away appeared in the case! When I saw that Zowie Bowie AKA Chris Phillips was there I was happy. He always makes me laugh! And he won the award for the funniest speech! He came up onstage and said: “I can’t tell you how great it makes me feel to be around so many other alcoholics that have no social security 401k or anything that resembles retirement. He’s a brilliant songwriter with over 100 number one hits and he’s a dynamic performer. He’s a world class musician and a hell of a good looking guy…but enough about his brother Tony! Speaking of Tony, it’s nice to see that he was able to make a shirt out of the drapes from his room at Circus Circus – he is the Maria Von Trapp of Las Vegas apparently”. OMG Chris is SO funny! Frankie asked if there were any questions from the audience and one of his friends yelled out “Do you Validate?” and everyone laughed. I wanted to ask Frankie what took him so long to propose to Lacey ( who is perfect by the way!) but I guess I will find out the answer at the next shindig of Frankies! The group onstage was growing which included Clint Holmes and Kelly Clinton Holmes, Paul Shortino, Lacey Schwimmer, Cole, Christian Brady, Murray Sawchuck, Zowie Bowie, Giovanni Moreno (Frankie’s son and drummer), Frankie Perez, Zoe and Pat Thrall, Phil Soussan, Frankie’s dad, Tony Moreno and so many others. Frankie was nice enough to call for me to come onstage and join the cast! Tony kept hugging me when I came onstage and I felt so honored to be up there with everyone else! I also invited Joey Allette to join me that night and it was his birthday!
